J is for JASON ISBELL

What can I say about his latest release Southeastern?  Have you ever found a song or 'album' that gets better each time you play it as get to LISTEN to it?  Well, this one is so one of them -

I had enjoyed the tracks I had heard on my trademark station WXPN - but when I watched him on ACL I was HOOKED - purchased and downloaded it right then and there -

JUST WOW - oh wait - JUST WOW!!! -

The title of this one was just so 'me' - I'm a singer - not a good singer but I love to sing - and I can imagine how a relationship could be impacted by not getting to hear 'the songs she sang in the shower' - especially 'wish you were here' - a very special person that loves me knows that songs makes me melt -

Another haunting tune is one called 'Relatively Easy' - again, Jason's songs demand you LISTEN - even the comments on the YouTube video mention the content - 

Then there is the one that brings me to my knees - and tears to my ears - and gooseflesh to my skin - ELEPHANT - there are not enough words to adequately convey its message - and the same very special person is also moved each time he hears it - anyone that has been impacted by the evil c - again, I don't give it the BIG letters - will find it touches deep inside their heart - and soul - and memories - 

Yes, just try to ignore the elephant somehow - no one dies with dignity - you just try to ignore the elephant somehow -

To those that have shared their lives with one - or are currently housing one - or don't know it will be visiting sometime, I'll lift a glass of this

I felt like a white for a change - and when I went for a fresh stock of Vodka - Copper Sun BTW - I saw this one - and since I've not been disappointed by any other Coppola wines I've had, I chose this one - and somehow, it is a fitting name to accompany this post - and yes, it is a good purchase - here is the link - I think I'll be trying the other varietals as well - I'm going to enjoy it the manner I prefer to drink whites - I've started with it cold from the refrigerator - but will keep it out for the remainder of the night to see how the flavors change - especially since most restaurants tend to serve whites way TOO cold -

Life is fuzzy - with the special princess - and on January 10 I celebrated three years at The GKP - and I've still not missed a shift - 

Again, please don't pass up the chance to listen to Jason Isbell - and after you've done so, you might want to journey back into his other works with Drive By Truckers - and/or The 400 Unit - all winners too -

Again -

As in time to think about it Again -

Nine years ago - December 7 AND 8 - my life changed in so many ways -

December 7 brought my own personal Pearl Harbor Day - I've written about it before - being terminated from a job that was my life - my happy place - my ME - but it gave me a chance - to regain my life - a life that eventually brought Khyra to me - or should I say, me to Whitney?

It also brought me HOME - as I moved back 'here' on December 8th-

A is also for AMOS LEE - an AWESOME ARTIST from Philadelphia - I've got many of his works in my collection - including his recent release - which includes this incredible song -



And Another version of the same song -



The first time I heard this song, I was hooked - and the title's words just haunt me when you really listen to the song -

I highly recommend anything from Amos - you will NOT be disappointed -

As for what wine I chose to celebrate tonight's Anniversary -well, I enjoyed a TALON from Hawk Haven -

Nine years - yet I can still recall it as if it were yesterday - yet, I know it wasn't - and I know how far I've come since then - and how far I've yet to go!

And the ANGEL on my shoulder said I should share this one

Epic SHit - I parked next to this Prius on last week's EPIC dog transport - 370 miles - per Google maps - I loved it - especially since it has been known to be one of my often used words - to the point that when my younger siblings were growing up they would often say "Mom, Phyll said shit again" -

S is also for SHAKE - The Head And The Heart's latest release - Let's Be Still - from that most special of dates to me (or should I say US) - October 15 - Here is Another Story 

That date of October 15 marked NINE years - and I'm still moved to share Bright Eyes - and the tune that is my BlackBerry ringtone -

Along with another Bright Eyes song that has lots of meaning - confirmed by the time I got the text message about making love on the living room floor 

So YES, we are Still Here - just not enough time in our day - or days in our week - or weeks in our month -

Tonight's wine for this woman -

Oh yes  - a good one - I had enjoyed the Apothic Red - suggested by S - I never got to try the white - but when I went to our local PA SpiritS shop for more vodka, I found the Dark - picked up two bottles - and I'll be heading back for more - this is a good one! - here is the APOTHIC site - for the price, they are good valueS!

As for the vodka?

E is for events - that change lives -

As I've shared here before, Pearl Harbor Day has its own special significance for me  - which means E-ight years ago, I had the rug of life yanked out from under me - but thanks to the support of a special person mentioned in the previous post - I survived - despite what 'they' thought -

In a sense, I was given a second chance at life - and was able to come home - and E-ventually I E-ncountered a certain fluffy tail that REALLY changed my life -

I'm glad I'm gone from THERE - and I'm glad I'm back HERE -

E-nough said -

None of us ever know what Fate has in store for us BUT for now, I'm pretty happy with the hand she dealt me - I'll keep playing it for a while -
