E And W And F Are For

Earth
Wind
and
Fire

I've always admitted my muscial tastes are very varied - from Alt Country to Metal to The Eagles to EWF - for the past few days I've had assorted EWF tunes running through my head so I've pulled some from YouTube

I'm REALLY trying to write SOMETHING meaningful again - and I feel bits and pieces but nothing takes root and grows - I know it would help me so much with many aspects of 'life' right now - I'll keep trying - maybe I'll dust off some of the things I've not shared and see if any of them get me going again -

SO, here you go - some EWF and then some Philip Bailey since one of his tunes fits the E category too - I have always enjoyed his EWF songs the most -his vocal range is incredible -

W Is For

W is for
WINE - actually, an excellent value in wine - I may have mentioned this one before - and if I had more time, I'd go back and check but what would it really matter - I'll just post about it again - I'm currently enjoying the 2007 production - I stumbled onto this wine whilst looking for information on another one several years ago - and due to the combination of my muscial interest AND the great Spanish grapes it included, I was quickly hooked - in looking for some information to include on this post, I found THIS BLOG post which had the write up for the 2005 - where I got the picture I've used - AND the website for the wine itself - I couldn't get a picture I liked from there - I have enjoyed trying some other Spanish wines in recent months - not pricey at all and quite good -

Whilst enjoying the first pour of this, a song came to mind that inspired me to make use of some YouTube songs I had staged for a post when the spirit moved me - I think once you see them, you might see where I was going with the 'theme' -

Sometimes my posts are for a reason and sometimes they just pop into my head - some are worthy of worrying about and some are just what they are: A POST -

I did enjoy reading this post on Saturday - it so made me think of my last 'o'ne - as in Ode to Old Friend - it was reassuring to see I am not alone in having the same thoughts about what happened to and why - I also know one of you commented about the same thing happening to you - the "I am part of all that I have met" really summed it up - it probably is part of why we try to hold on - even beyond when we should - in my case, I give too many the benefit of the doubt for too long - but there comes a time when even my patience is consumed - and I'm a pretty freakin' patient person when it comes to 'understanding' -

Time to share some tunes that have a theme - I hope you enjoy them!

Cheers!

O Is For

O is for Ode for a friend...

Dear Old Friend:

I'd posed the question 'here' before about you - mentioned how disappointed I was in you - how once upon a time we shared a lot - good and bad - I mean, I was the one you felt comfortable calling the night you and your wife finally had the fight that did it for the two of you -

You had been living separate lives in the same house for some time but -

It has been too long since we've talked or seen each other yet at one point in my life, I never thought there would be a time without you in it in a sense - I know I told you I knew you better than you knew yourself - you even agreed but -

I swallowed my hurt feelings and pride and emailed you birthday greetings last June -

And since once upon a time, we always exchanged 'something' on holidays, I sent a hi on Thanksgiving -

That went unacknowledged - so, I'll close my chapter on you come June 12th - I'll wish you a happy life - you did help me find mine - and I really thought I had helped you along as well - yet now I don't know -

I do have you to thank for introducing me to Keb' Mo' - and for that I thank you -

For Keb' Mo' sang it best in this song of his: One Friend

Check your in box on June 12th - I need some closure - even Khyra and Merdie wonder how you are doing -
