P And G Are For
Pinot Gris - a nice offering from Wine Access Direct - I took a chance a purchased a case- actually, not much of a chance as I've yet to be disappointed in anything I've trusted them to offer - here is the link to the info about it - sorry to tell you it is sold out - actually sold out in a few days - but if you are nice to me, I'll share a bottle - I've got one chilling now! NOW for the OTHER P and G - Peter Gabriel his website - and Peter Gabriel - - his Wikipedia page -
I hadn't really had an idea for a blog post but then I thought of how The World Cup is commencing today - and I thought of South Africa and how far they've come - yet, like 'us', how far they still have to go - one thing lead to another and VOILA Peter Gabriel -
The songs I selected also include two artists I enjoy - Kate Bush and Simple Minds - so here we go - you will notice I've included two versions of 'Don't Give Up' - I couldn't decide so I didn't -
Here's to a great World Cup - here's a great weekend - here's to the folks 'in charge' at BP getting theirs -
I could have included the other P&G - I'm not crazy about them buying the company that makes Khyra's dog food - time will tell on THAT one -
Cheers!

H Is For
Well, I said there was a reason for the H Is For - well, it is for H****** and their latest kick in the face chin stomach knees shins of the workforce and the consumer - I have not purchased a H****** product since 2007 or 2008 when they started their last restructuring - closing plants in Canada and the US to switch to lower cost plants so they could maintain and increase their profits - it was a sad enough day when the York Peppermint Patty ceased to produced in YORK - the production was shifted to Reading PA - but now it is produced in Mexico - I have to admit this is probably the H****** product I miss the most -
Here are just a few examples of the latest crap - along with several links to discussions of the changes that first got me - let's just say, they are ready to sacrifice workers - and even the city of Hershey itself all for bottom line - if the contract is ratified - and of course 'they' know it will because 'they' know 'they' have the workers by the delicate parts - there will not be any chocolate made in the city of Hershey anymore -
For your review -

I'm sure Milton S Hershey is rolling over in his grave - as the saying goes - at what has been done to his town and his vision - I would expect he and Sam Walton are both quite disappointed in what has happened to their companies - ironically enough, H****** and W****** seemed to have formed some unholy alliance - but then again, not a surprise at all - both of them have similar business model stylings -
Of course, don't even get me started on Broken Pipe International - I mean, all of us want our lives back -
