UB40 actually - inspired by the wine this woman had Thursday evening - it is not the one shown above - that is a picture snagged from Twin Brook Winery - mine was an awesome Cabernet Franc - from 1998 - OH MY - the things that have happened to the wine and to me in those twelve years - I'll spare all of us!
I was last at this winery in December of 2004 - that is when I picked up this bottle - and just held it - never felt the urge to drink it - would often look at it and think back to the day that found me visiting their winery - wishing I could go back to that day - maybe that is why I kept holding onto it - but for some reason, it called to me Thursday night - I wasn't sure what to expect when I opened it - actually was prepared to turn it into salad dressing and/or an ingredient in a marinade - but I smiled at the first sip - as more of the bottle was consumed, I was so wishing the person who had been with me the day we bought the bottle could be here to share it - but...
It provided me ideas for a post - I'm trying to be a bit more post active - and often toss some around as Khyra and I walk - or even ponder some fictional pieces to throw here - but, you know how that is
So, here is the first one that came to mind for the post - and yes, you probably already hear it in your head -
B is for Bob Marley - just needed to include some of these tunes - since he had written Red Red Wine, his works came up when I was hunting UB40 songs - and well, the tunes speak for themselves
And yes, she survived the week!
Cheers!
