M Is For

M Is For Mixture - Melange - Missing - Monday

Saturday evening's wine - a long time favourite - both winery and grape varietal - Easton's Dad KT knows this quite well - my dad turned me on to this winery years and years ago - along with another M - Muscat Canelli - back 'then' - perhaps 30 or so years, one could only purchase one bottle of it at a time - but since he was from out of state, they let him buy two!  I had to smile at the number CSM assigned to the Gewurtz - 268 - one of my number sequences since my birthday is 826 - I'm all about the two's the six's and the eight's!

Here is a song that stuck in my head today as I look forward to Monday - of course, I could also think of Margaritaville but I never did quite get The Parrot Head thing - as I did not get The Dead Head thing either - but this has always been a favourite JB song of mine -

When I hit the CSM Website, I saw a favourite artist was performing there - another one Easton's dad and I chatted about - but what a great lineup of performers -

And here is another one that just gets me

Yes, what a wicked thing to do - to make me dream of you -

I saw another awesome M on the list as well - of course, I'm very partial to his hair -

Come Monday -

Cheers All -

BTW, the artist performing at CSM at I put this post together is another of my ALL TIME favourites!!! I have many many of EWF's releases!

W Is For

W is for Watson

Beautiful home, beautiful home,
Oh how I long to be there.
We will find peace and rest with the pure and the blessed
in that beautiful golden somewhere.

Doc, I hope you are resting with a Gallagher G-50 in your lap far beyond the skies, with Merle at your side with his G-70.

That is from a FolkDJListServ I receive -

W is for Welch

There are many links out there for him but this one was interesting - given the contributors

W is for Wine

I've ordered - but with the weather, I'm waiting until conditions permit delivery!

Both of the W Artists featured above recently left us - but for different reasons - they were both experiencing health issues - time took one - but one left us by his own hand - but he did leave a note for his now widow -

Cheers to the awesome band that just keeps building and building across what we call The Rainbow Bridge

R Is For

Running - something I DO NOT do!

Jo Jo Gunne is SO something from my youth - junior high days!

R is also for Redemption - this tune comes from Redemption's Son - and appropriate since one of S's themes is also Redemption - written for someone who happens to share my name - another sign as we say -

The Joseph Arthur tune is oneof THOSE that always got into my skin and head - yet I never managed to write down "WHO DID THAT SONG!" - until I heard it last week!

Of course,  another R would be a Jackson Browne tune - one of those albums I played over and over and over

Which leads to another one

Oh yes, to be a Roadie OR a Groupie?

Which would you choose?

Cheers!

L Is For

Levon Helm - he lost his battle with the evil c on 4/19/12

That tune was so telling of how he wanted us to think of him when he left us -

Here is another LH tune with another artist that is amongst what defines me

The Last Waltz was one of the first CD's S burned for me - and so it goes - it is just wild to see The Band from back 'then'

Here's a Joni Mitchell tune that was in The Last Waltz - S and I joked about it as we shared breakfast in the early days of our relationship

Here's to staring holes in scrambled eggs!

And here's to 7-1/2 years!

Cheers!

I hope the new Blogger template will translate well!

AND I hope to find time to share more here on W&W -

Just Sayin'

O Is For

One of those days and dates one will never forget - no matter how hard one tries, the irony of it all stays - and I think in this case, it is a good thing

Seven years ago - four days short of 26 years of employment - I was - as I term it - voted off The Island -

Of course, now I look back and view it as The Island of Misfit Toys - but I digress -

Those who know me - and have read my previous posts related to this event - know how it changed my life - and how certain areas of my life had begun to change - and thanks to those changes, I was able to handle this - it took some time to recover - although some days I'm not sure I am - that is until I read the emails a past co worker of mine sends after his shift is done - then I realise I would have flipped by now had I still been there -

Thanks to the support of a very special friend - S to be exact - and my family - I survived -

I really don't try to dwell on this event but I can't help but do so - the job had defined me - had been my happy place - but I'll use this song - since it includes what I say - and what I joke will become my tattoo one day -

I'd love to pull out more of Stephen Bruton's tunes BUT I want to get on with settling in - and celebrating - and pondering -

Yes, for a reason AND fur a reason -

If not for my own personal Pearl Harbor Day, I would not have a wet Princess Rainkhloud Siberian Sponge nearby - she's been outside waiting for our rain to turn to the snow 'they've' promised us!

Please check out more of his tunes - I know you won't be disappointed -

SO, thanks to all of you for being there - and being here!

Although I don't normally indulge in adult beverages during my work week, tonight will include one or two - along with a special one finger salute in the direction of The Gulag!

Cheers!
